The future of European Rivers: a communication strategy for the 43rd international workshop
Now in its 7th year, TeamWork is an online international experience program that connects organizations with multidisciplinary teams of students from Warwick and other top universities around the world. Les Ateliers de Cergy is one such organization, welcoming a team for the third consecutive year.
During four weeks in March 2025, Les Ateliers worked with six students from Warwick, Dresden, Ljubljana, and Stockholm in collective brainstorming sessions and communication production efforts to prepare for the 43rd International Creative Urban Workshop on the Seine River.
During this workshop, three teams of students and young professionals will voluntarily work for three weeks on the future of the Seine River water system. Key questions they aim to address include: How does the river link the entire Paris Region and make it unique? How can we strengthen its ecological role? How can we protect water systems with a long-term vision?
Teamwork was designed to generate interest in this workshop and explored the topic through different European perspectives—specifically, the role and future of major rivers in Europe. The Teamwork participants conducted research and visits related to their city's watercourses and collaboratively designed a communication strategy for social networks and other platforms, incorporating creative elements.
This multidisciplinary team engaged in profound discussions about rivers. After four weeks, they presented several proposals for the workshop's communication strategy, including:
A series of three infographics highlighting key aspects of river preservation.
A collection of prospective and cautionary images to draw attention.
A banner featuring infographics on the Seine River.

These materials will be featured on social media in the coming weeks to raise awareness about water and river-related topics and to accompany the launch of the workshop's international call for applications.
Special thanks to Matej Gaberc, George Porter, Iorvik Verhoeven, Amelia Lee, Wiam Behidj, and Saima Begum for their participation and dedication to this international initiative. Their work will also be included in forthcoming publications about the Seine River.
