International Urban Planning Workshop « #Tirana100: Rebound - Repairing and preparing Tirana for a resilient future »
Since 2019, Les Ateliers in partnership with the Municipality of Tirana and the support of the French Embassy in Tirana, the French Development Agency (AFD), and AVITEM (Agency for Sustainable Mediterranean Cities and Territories), has started a collective reflection leading to the organization of the Tirana International Urban Planning Workshop.
The workshop explores actionable ideas and approaches on repairing the current cracks in the urban fabric, while preparing the city to accommodate the demographic growth and to protect its environment under pressure. A focus is offered on Kinostudio, a district at the edge of the city devoted to the Albanian film industry during communist times, now seen as a hub welcoming the Ministry of Culture and cultural institutions in a polycentric metropolis.
